A Scam That I Experienced

One of the main scams I have seen throughout the years has been when people send a link to your G-mail asking for you to click it. It usually looks like it is from a place you recently shopped from. They want your information for a “competition” or a chance at more rewards. They have you fill out information in exchange for a chance at something that isn’t real. They will do this so that they can gain access to accounts with some of your information. They could sell your information to others. You can usually tell that it is fake when they ask for information that starts to get too personal. Sometimes the emails are very broad, and they are made to look exciting. In the end, they become a scam just to get your information.

Hey Edward,
I have experienced a scam myself where I was told I could win 100 dollars if I play this game that was linked to iMessages. I was really young and didn’t cross my mind that Scams were a thing, I clicked the link and right away my phone started acting by itself, and it got into my bank account.

I have also experienced this and always end up getting links to scams in my g-mail. I do my best not to click on the scams but sometimes the offer they are addressing seems too realistic.

Some offers are very realistic but always re consider when they start to bring up things that are to personal.

My job sends phishing emails to test the staff to see if we will click on it. I usually fall for these email scams, but I know better than to give out personal information.

It is easy to click on the link but, when it is to good to be true its always best to click off!

I get a lot of emails and texts with fake receipts from geek squad, MacAffee etc. I know it is a scam because I don’t use services like that. I just go check my credit card and don’t have charges from them so know it isn’t real. But it is annoying and takes time I don’t want to spend that way.

Yes, It always is a pain to have to search through your emails to delete the scams. It is a good idea to always go check your bank accounts and earlier purchases.
